Love saves the day

The first Women's March in Los Angeles, California was held on January 21, 2017, as part of a larger nationwide protest in response to the inauguration of President Donald Trump. The Los Angeles Women's March was one of the largest protests in the city's history, with an estimated attendance of 750,000 people.

The march was organized by a diverse coalition of women's groups, including the National Organization for Women (NOW), Planned Parenthood, and the Women's March Los Angeles Foundation. The march started at Pershing Square in downtown Los Angeles and ended at City Hall, where a rally was held with speeches from prominent activists and politicians.

The march was a response to the Trump administration's agenda, which many saw as a threat to women's rights, reproductive rights, and civil rights. Participants carried signs and chanted slogans in support of these issues, as well as for immigrant rights, climate justice, and racial justice.

The Los Angeles Women's March was part of a larger movement that saw millions of people take to the streets in cities across the United States and around the world. It was widely regarded as a powerful show of solidarity and resistance, and helped to galvanize a new generation of activists and advocates for social justice.. Some of the speakers included:

  • Gloria Allred, attorney and women's rights advocate

  • Laverne Cox, actress and transgender rights activist

  • Mayor Eric Garcetti, mayor of Los Angeles

  • Los Angeles City Councilmember Nury Martinez

  • Maria Elena Durazo, labor leader and immigrant rights advocate

  • Ashley Judd, actress and feminist activist

  • Jane Fonda, actress and political activist

  • Connie Britton, actress and advocate for poverty alleviation

These speakers, along with others, addressed a range of issues related to gender equality, reproductive rights, racial justice, and more, and helped to inspire and energize the crowd of hundreds of thousands of participants.

I am excited to finally release my latest project, "Love Saves the Day: A Collection of Images from the First Women's March in Los Angeles." Though these images were captured back in 2017, I held back on releasing them until now because I strongly believe that they need to be out there, inspiring the next generation of women. This ebook captures the powerful moments from the historic march, showcasing the beauty of unity and the importance of fighting for what we believe in. As an artist, I believe in the power of art to inspire and effect positive change in the world. That's why I am proud to announce that half of the profits from this project will be donated to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), a non-profit organization that fights for civil rights and liberties for all. I invite you to experience this project for yourself here on my website, link below, where it is available for free viewing. Soon, it will also be available for purchase on Amazon.com and the Apple Store. Thank you for your interest, and I hope that these images inspire you as much as they have inspired me.
